The Way of the Kettlebell

The humble kettlebell (or Girya) began as a farming tool for weight measurement.  Russian strongmen later adopted them to use as training tools to build strength and endurance. Indeed, you may have seen old Russian photos of bare-chested carnival strongmen hoisting them over their heads.

The kettlebell may be centuries-old origins, but you would be a fool to doubt their effectiveness for one second! Working out with them can be an excellent way of getting a total-body workout.  Kettlebell exercises involve explosive, total body movements that combine strength training, cardiovascular fitness and flexibility while strengthening the core and improving flexibility.
